We spoke with Patricia Hall, Senior Specialist, Olympic & Paralympic at Toyota Motor Europe about her experience working with EGD.

Why did you chose to work with Event Goods Delivered?

It was a company that we're working with who suggested Event Goods Delivered. We had a quick look at what you guys were doing, and we were more than happy to jump on board and have discussions with you guys to start up a project.​

What work did EGD do for you during the Paris Games?

So, we received uniforms for our team of staff working in Paris, and we received some fabulous jackets to offer as a gift to our Global Team Toyota athletes which was embroidered with the Paris logo, and it had the Start Your Impossible motto on the sleeve.

What did you appreciate most about working with EGD?

The thing I think all of our team at OPD appreciated was the smoothness and the swiftness of responses and assistance when we requested it. The fact that they came up with, the team came up with ideas that maybe we hadn't thought about - so more out of the box and more bespoke for us, that was really highly appreciated. Price quality at the end - whenever we seen the products was so good that yeah, definitely was worth working with the team.​

What makes EGD different from other merchandise suppliers?

What makes EGD different? The fact that they came up with out of the box solutions. Production that is actually in accordance with our requirements ecologically. So environment social aspect of things is taken into consideration. I mean, the whole process around it, the discussions constantly catching up with us just to make sure everything was okay. Sending us samples, just to make sure that the samples were in line with what we wanted.

 

The whole process, the whole thinking behind it was was absolutely fabulous. To get the fact that the team actually work with us and not just tell us what they think we should do that was already highly appreciated as well. I mean, it was just the whole from A to Z was was just a really very nice experience for our team.

Would you recommend EGD’s services? If so, who to?

So, at this point, we have already recommended the service of EGD within the company. But any other agency that would want to, or any other car manufacturer, anyone who wants to know any more about EGD and working with them, we'd be more than happy to advise them to go ahead and do that. Just do it.

Aligning with Toyota’s environmental and social values

EGD’s partnership with Toyota for the Olympic and Paralympic Games prioritised environmentally conscious practices, aligning closely with Toyota’s mission of "Happiness for All" through sustainable, innovative mobility and eco-friendly merchandise.

We worked closely with Toyota to ensure that, where possible, the items were sourced locally and from environmentally responsible suppliers. We also prioritised sustainable materials and packaging.

Sustainability highlights
 

  • EGD produced the Toyota merchandise using mostly organic cotton and recycled polyester.
     

  • Biodegradable packaging materials were also prioritised.

Efficient deliveries to minimise emissions

 

EGD strategically consolidated shipments to Toyota, reducing delivery frequency, optimizing routes, and cutting emissions. Bulk delivery also minimized packaging waste, aligning with Toyota’s sustainability goals.

Operations highlights
 

  • EGD's 300-square-meter warehouse enabled organised packing and dispatching, while on-site assistance at Toyota HQ reduced emergency deliveries, keeping transport emissions low.

  • ​The EGD Client Portal provided real-time inventory tracking, preventing overproduction and redundant shipments, which helped reduce operational emissions.

Toyota wanted to ensure that the Olympics could be celebrated by all team members under their uniting belief of “Happiness for All”. This meant that we crafted designs that could be worn by all all body types and were also gender neutral.

​

Design highlights
 

  • We focused on delivering a clear visual identity with distinctive brand colours, but with minimal invasiveness by the brand logos and markers.
     

  • Each item was crafted to be functional and durable, ensuring a longer lifespan, reducing waste, and supporting Toyota's ethos of making products with lasting utility.
